How the machine enters
Karlsson built a generative computer-music system from recordings of 64 acoustic instruments and physical objects. He sets weightings for how sounds combine, begin and end, along with envelope, playback-speed and spatialisation behaviour; these six versions were newly made for a 2026 installation and digital release.
