Wired Moth release note
Club Imperiale
Maxime Denuc
Early trance and a Catholic pipe organ turn out to share more than repetition. Denuc uses a custom sequencer to make the organ move at inhuman speed, then lets the church’s acoustics give those patterns weight and duration.
How the machine enters
Denuc composed and programmed the album for a MIDI-controlled pipe organ. His hand-built Max/MSP sequencer and OpenSoundControl system address the instrument's keyboards, stops and pedals, producing rapid repetitions and other passages beyond human performance while Denuc shapes, records and edits the result. No machine-learning claim is made.
