How the machine enters
Portrait XO sonifies data from Our World in Data tied to the UN's Sustainable Development Goals, then combines it with sounds made through consent-based models of her own work and material from WOULG and Rob Clouth via Neutone AI and Datamind Audio. She composed, recorded, produced and mixed the album; the models are credited instruments inside a human-authored work.
